It is the purpose of The Tithing Foundation to promote the practice of proportionate giving leading to and beyond the tithe, thereby encouraging spiritual growth in the sharing of time, talent and treasure and the enjoyment of the benefits thereof.

The Tithing Foundation continues its effort to promote the concept and practice of tithing since 1916.
One of the founding lay persons, Thomas Kane, wrote:
