The Tithing Foundation continues its more than ninety year effort to promote the concept and practice of tithing. One of the founding lay persons, Thomas Kane, wrote: It is my personal belief that God prospers those who honor him by setting aside a definite proportion of their income to his service. The Foundation was first incorporated in the state of Illinois as a non-profit organization in 1916. The basic funding for the Foundation comes from a trust established by an initial gift from Thomas Kane. A board of directors, representing several denominations, manages earnings from the trust. The board files a report to the Illinois Attorney General each year. Periodically the Tithing Digest is published and sent to churches and others upon request. Materials are provided at near cost.

Congregations and individuals that would like to support the work of the Foundation and receive additional information about tithing are encouraged to become members of our network of Tithing Associates.
